EMPRESS THEATRE.
At all sessions the Empress Theatre was crowded on Saturday, when a speci-ally-selected programme met with great approval from those present. The big feature was a powerful drama, " Ashes of Hope," full of interest and thrills. The story is of the golden west. The cabaret scenes are on a lavish scale, and the settings and general get-up of the picture are excellent. Latest news from all parts is given in a very interesting way in the Topical Budget, and there is also a very bright comedy. This programme will be repeated to-day.
