THE COMPETITIONS.

The trials of skill in music, singing, reciting, and dancing, promoted by the Wellington Competitions Society, open in the Town Hall on Thursday next, and promise to be of more than U6ual interest. One of the most popular features of these contests is dancing, and there will be displays of both classical and Highland dancing, the judges being Mr. Bert Royle and Miss Polly M'Laren, premier danseuse and ballet mistress of the Sunshine Revue Company now appearing at His Majesty's Theatre.
