TWO MEN MISSING.

(BI TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.)

NEW PLYMOUTH, 24th January. The oil launch Mahoe, owned by Mr. C. A. Ogle, of Waitara, bound' from Marokopa to Waitara, when approaching Waitara between 5 and 6 p.m., struck the bar, turned turtle and drifted on the reef. Captain Roberts k missing and the engineer, Mr. Jamieson, is believed to be entombed. Two passengers, one the son of the proprietor and the other a. youth named Jury, got ashore in a boat with George Millar, the third member of the crew. An attempt was made at low tide to release the engineer, but fumes prevented the operations. There was a lair sea at the .time of the disaster. The vessel was of about 20 tons, and was carrying a load of wool and a heavy deck cargo.
