MARANATHA.

IN last week's announcement ws wrote "tho establishment of a League of Nations is clearly indicated in the Word of God." A lady has asked us to give Scriptures in proof of this statement. For more than a half century now teachers of prophetic truth have declared that at or about this time th«» prophecies of Daniel ii., 42 and 43, Chapter viL, 20 and 24, and Revelation xvii., 12,. might commence to receive fulfilment. We quote from a remarkable little book on this subject by a New Zealander, T. H. Salmon, "Christ is Coming," which was written in 1910. We are now living in the feet (the great image of Daniel II.) near the toes, and the next development will bo a federation of the nations, and it is doubtful if this can be accomplished without war. Further on he wrote: "It appears probable that some time between now (1910) and 1914 the nations will be at war, and the res'dt will be the rise of the ten too kingdoms with some strong man at the head." We call particular notice in this connection to the cable, in the Dominion, 14th January, headed, "The League of Nations" pamphlet by General Smuts, who therein advocates the setting up of a council of ten membere representing ten < nations. It seems fairly certain that definite steps are to be taken at the Peace Conference to establish a League of Nations. That Mr. Salmon was able eight years ago on the authority of God's Word (as prophesied in the portions of the Book of Daniel and the Revelation wo have quoted) to forecast such a League of Nations is surely evidence of the existence and accuracy of prophetic truth. What say our readers? The layman wh> inserts this weekly announcement will be pleased to recejve any communication or suggestion which may be addrewed to him, care Bos 256, , G.P.0., Wellington. I
