According to the Otago Daily Times, the party of,, military defaulters who were recently arrested at Elfin Bay (Lake Wakatipu) during their peregrinations took up the role of surveyors in searth of , water power whereby electricity conld be . generated on a large scale. One of the adventurers visited the church at Glenorchy, but the precepts of the officiating clergyman failed to impress him; in fa,ct, the defaulter states he felt like contradicting him every . two , minutes. The one redeeming feature of the' clergyman was his acoentr—it betokened that he -was a Scotsman.
