The game throughout was fast, open, and spectacular. it resolved itself into v duel between New Zealand aggressive forward attacks, which were mainly composed of dribbling rushes with a display pf excellent footwork, and superb tricky WelsH back play The Welsh forwards obtained possession of the ball on most occasions and the backs handled it better than the New Zealanders. There' was uo ecore at half time. Insufficient policing- permitted the crowd to invade t)ie field of play, and' in consequence the game had, tq be stopped on several occasions, Jn the second half of the game, after a splendid passing ruth in which nearly all the Welsh back* took part, a try wa.s obtained at a corner; the scorer brushing the spectators as he was crossing tb,t go»Mine. The kick at goal was not successful. "The New Zealandere made tremendout effort* to equalise matters and hemmed the W«lih down to their line. A great pasting bout between Brown, Taurei, M'Naugbt, and Cockroft, the later just failing, by inohM, to score under the goal posts. The game was a truly memorable one, although hardly equal to past international stand-' aids. Storey, O'Brien, and M'Naught were the best of the New Zealand backs, and Wilton, Fogarty, Moffitt, and Sellars amongst the forward divi*ipn.
