THE ASHHURST MEETING
The postponed annual meeting of the Ashhurst Racing Club will be held on Monday. A special train will leave Palmerston at 10.30 a.m., returning after, the last race. The first event is set down for decision at 11.30 a.m. In what appears to be a moderate field engaged in the Hack Hurdles, First Line may be seen to advantage. Several fresh horses are engaged in the Pohangina Handicap, including Crowhurat and Comment. Hy drus, who has incurred a penalty, is also in the Raumai Welter, run later in the day. Starengo and Rawakore may be at Stratford. In the Flying Hack Handicap, Gold Problem will have to put up 101b extra for the Awapuni win, bringing his weight up jto 8.12. He meets Red Signal on a stone worse terms. They are not a good lot" in the Gup. Henry Olay (the Taranaki' winner) will probably be at Stratford. Classification, a, place-getter in the President's Handicap at Awapuni, should run well. Namur and Signorella are in the Gorge Hack Handicap, a mile race. The Komako. Welter, seven furlongs, may go to Idle Talk, runner-up to Rieiizi. Ahika will have to carry 9,3. In the Raumai Welter Hydrus will Have to put up 10.2. They are a very, moderate lot. If in form Bairnsdale may show up. Hurry Up is not riowv eligible for the Maiden Stakes. Papanui, a place-getter in the Trial Plate at Awapuni, is down to compete.
