BRISBANE, This Day
A demonstration, consisting of eleven hundred Darwin citizens, representing all sections of the community, and headed by a band, marched to Government House, where several speakers denounced the present autocratic system of Government, including the Administrative, Judicial, and Medical Department*. The meeting resolved to implore Mr. Watt, Acting-Prime Minister, in the interests of life and property, to recall Dr. Gilruth, whose autocratic administration, they said, is.fast reaching a very grave crisis; also, for the establishment of a good Government, having the confidence of the residents, and for the development of the Territory..
