CONVALESCENT HOME
The Wellington South Convalescent Home, which filled such ,a Useful, mission during the recent epidemic, will lie closet! as from Monday' next. The staff and patients were on the best of terms, and as pleasant a time as _ possible -, under the conditions prevailing,was spent. Christ-mas Day was kept ilp in . the time-honoured. way, poultry and plum-pudding', being greatly in evidence. The end of the hall wile covered with yellow-flowered broom, the walls tastefully draped -with flags, . t and the tables decorated with roses, carnations, and s\veetpeas. ■ The thanks of the "patients are tendered to Lady Liverpool (flowers), the Mayor, Mr. J. P Luke, C.M.G., oh behalf of the Epidemic Relief Fund (£10), Captiiin Gentry, and the Army Service Gorps' for providing the Christinas . dinner, Dr. Perkins (cigarettes), Miss Gibbons, of Lyall Bay (flowers), Mrs. Christie (flowers and cakes), iWld Niir.^e Russell, for-'the .entertainment'in the evening. Last iiighl the Y.W.G.A. gave a concert, which Was greatly lipprecihtfed by the patients.
