The Minister for Lands has consented, on behalf of the Government, to formally accept from Mr James Trounson, of Nbrthcote, the gift of an area of bush for scenic preservation purposes. This land (says Auckland Star), which contains a number of magnificent specimens of kauri, adjoins Kauri Park, of 60 acres, which was presented recently by Mr. Trounson. It has been decided to make a ceremonial befitting the occasion early in January, and invite a numberof prominent business men from Auckland.
