LESS DRUNKENNESS
There waa a decrease of 2033 in the prosecutions for drunkenness in 1917, tho figures receding from 10i'833 in 1916 to 8800, of which 584 referred to women. Of the males 36.61 per cent, and of the females 47.43 per cent, had previous convictions. The figures in detail are : —
