Sergeant H. H. Thomason, of Nelson, who ha»> been awarded the Military Medal, was only 18 years of age when he enlisted. He left with the Main Body} and took part in the first brush with the Turks on the Suez Canal, when Private Ham was killed. He was wounded lit Gallipoli, and after a sojourn' in hospital returned to the Peninsula, where he was again wounded, and eventually returned to New Zealand. After a year's spell in New Zealand he re-enlisted, and left for the front, where he has distinguished himself, for not only has he gained the distinction named, but a private cable conveys the information that he has gained a commission and has gone to a training college at Oxford. A Press Association message from Chmtchurch states that Mr. H. W. Bishop, formerly a Stipendiary Magistrate, becam* sononaly ill yesterday, and h» condition it understood to bQ I critiflti..
