WANGANTJI, 7th November,
At a meeting of South African War veterans lost evening, it was decided to revive the South African Association. Matters of interest to those who Berved in South Africa were discussed, and it was resolved to press the Government for the same privileges for South African War men as are granted to Maori War veterans and soldiers in the present war. The following resolution was also earned unanimously :—"That in view of the probable early repatriation of our soldiers serving in the present war, this association urges the Government to take timely steps to ensure their proper transport, in order that such regrettable cases as that of the .troopship Britannia at the end of the South African War may be prevented; and in particular that overcrowding of transports b.e strictly guarded against, notwithstanding any extra expense such policy may entail.
