SAILORS' ENTERTAINMENT
An enjoyable entertainment under the auspices of tho British aiid Foreign Sailors' Society ivtr hold at the Sailors' Rest last week-end. A party of ladies from the -Vivian-6troet Baptiat Church contributed a programmo of parlour games and singingj which was thoroughly enjoyed by the'sailors who mako the Sailors' Rest a home whilo sjway from home. Light refreshments were handed round, and tho proceedings were, closed with prayer. Increased interest is being taken in these gatherings by those who have come to realise what a hard life the average sailor haa to endure for the benefit-of thoso remaining ashore, and tho many temptations which beset him when in a strange port, and who recognise the good work being done by the Wellington Sailors' Rest and similar institutions.
