BOWLING
DOMINION TOURNAMENT.
Colonel R. J. Collins represented Wellington at the first meeting of the council of the New Zealand Bowling Association, held in Auckland on Friday. The association tournament will be held in Auckland, beginning on the Bth of Jannary, and will be a patriotic one. It will consist of.rinks, pairs,. and singles. All the details in connection -with the tournament are loft in the hands of the Tournament Committee, which consists of the executive members of the council and the Centre Committee. .
It -was agreed that the full rinks be divided into sections of ten, on the.sys.tern .adopted. at-Dunedin; up" to the con' elusion of section play; no ■ team to qualify with less than six wins. After section play is concluded, tho •■ "two losses" principle to be applied. Winners to play winners and. losers to play losers, on the same system as was adopted at Dunedin last year for the single competition. . . ..
The pairs competition will be played in sections of six; winners of. each section to be found. . Section winners to be played on the sudden death principle; 21 heads to be played. The.single competition is to be conducted on the same S3'stem as was adopted in Dunedin last year. A conference of delegates from each centre will bo held during tournament week. . ;
The matter of direct representation on the council from each centre, which was suggested.by Mr. J. Allan (Invercargill), was left over to be discussed at the conference meeting in January.
