■.. The monthly meeting of. the Wellington Land Board, comprising Messrs. G. H. M'Clure (Commissioner), J. Dawson, H. T. Ellingham, J. Georgefcti, and C. M'lntyre, was continued to-day. Three applications for the purchaso of private land under section 3 of the Discharged Soldiers' Settlement 'Amendment Act wero dealt with. Thirty-six applications for financial assistance, under section 2 of the Act, were also under consideration. Of these, twenty-nine were for the purchaso or erection of dwellings or other than rural land. A number of applications for land by discharged, soldiers, under section 4 of the Discharged Soldiers' Settlement Act, 191S> .were also dealt srith by. tha board..
