WASHINGTON, 15th September. The United States Government has seized the Virgin Islands, which were once considered a potential .German naval base, but will be rused by the American Navy. , [The meaning of this message is obscure. The Virgin- Islands, ,a. small group ill the West Indies, between T?orto Rico and the Lesser Antilles, consists of several small islands, of which some are British, two belong to Porto Rico, and the remaining three were purchased by the United States from Denmark in 1916-1917.]
