VIENNESE COMMENT ON FOCH'S RESERVES

(AUSTRALIAN-KEW ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION.)

OTTAWA, 13th September. The Hague correspondent of the Chicago News states that the Vienna Neve Freie Presse attributes much of the Allied success to a powerful new gas, which creates monster flames and an explosion. The paper adds : "Foch now has great technical resources and more than a. million Americans,, so he can keep up the offensive. He thinks he can tire out the German Army and compel the Higher Commandl to call up his reserves, but the Higher Command is reserving its men and applying the tactics of. an elastic defence and strong counterattack."
