DEMAND BY RAILWAYMEN
(AUSTRALIAN-NEW ZEALAND CAJLE ASSOCIATION.) LONDON, 15th September.
The railwaymen are demanding an advance of 10s a week, in addition to the present bonus of 255. They rejected an oiler of ss. Mr. J. H. Thomas, secretary of the National Union of Railwaymen, has issued a statement pointing out the gravity of the situation, and urging the men |o avoid ill-advised-and unconstitutional methods during 1 the national crisis.
