WAIROA, This Day. !At the S.M. Court today the local Bar tendered a welcome to the new S.M., Mr. J. S. Barton, who replied in suitable terms.
A- farmer, T. Romley, charged with Siblishing in the bar of the Wairoa otel a seditious statement, to wit, "I hope the — Huns come here and beat you, and the Masaey crowd. The Hun would make as good bosses as Humphrey Bayly." Owing to illness of defendant's counsel, the case was adjourned till 9th October, on bail in. the amount of £100 being lodged.
