PALMERSTON N. s 19th August. The Chamber of Commerce, after an animated discussion, in which the.setting up of a distinctly, military committee to report on the findings of a military commission, was adversely commented on, passed 1 the following motion: "That this chamber is strongly of opinion that the National Efficiency Board, as representing the business side of the community, should bo invited to participate in the conference with the military tribunal which has been *et up .to advise the Government in regard to the recommendations contained in tlie report of the Defence Expenditure Commission."
