DOMINION GIRL PEACE SCOUTS

The Northland Troop, D.G.P.S., held a pound night and social evening on Friday last, and, though the weather was most unpleasant, there was a full attendance of the troop. In addition to the Troop- Committee, the Commissioner (Mr. Daniel) and several other guests -were present. The Lower Hutt Troop was represented by its Scoutmistress (Mrs. Robertson), ,-md the Troop Sergeant. Miss Gardiner, assistant-Scoutmistress of the Kotorua Troop, represented R-otoraa troops, and District Commander A. MacDpnalrl the Boy Scouts. After the toast of "Tho King" was honoured, a very pleasant evening was spent in music, song, and story. The Commissioner highly complimented the troop on its general appearance and the work it had accomplished. The assistant-Scoutmistress from Rotorua also gav.s a very interesting history of the Rotorua Troop, and the methods for instruction' adopted there. The following scouts supplied the musical items, -which were of a high standard and well rendered: Patrol Leader Daniel, Corporal Churchouss, Scouts Griffey, M'Kay, and Fountain. The Scoutmistress (Miss Wilkinson) and assistant-Scout-mistress (Miss A. Clis-by) also rendered itomE. "Keeip the Home Pireß Burning" was sung by all the troop as a chorus, and short and. amusing stories were told 'by several of the scouts.
