(nHITSD PItKSS ASSOCIATION.—fIOPXRIOST.) MELBOURNE, 10th August. The following is the Tesult of the AUSTRALIAN STEEPLECHASE, of 1300 soys. About four miles. Cuffs (imp.), by Collar—MurOa, 10.1 (Robertson) 1 Jack Rice, 12.9 (Grey) '2 Westendale, 11.6 (Boyd) 3 Fourteen started. Hobgoblin made the most of the running, with Cuffs, Westendale, and Jack Rice in close attendance. Cuffs led' into the straight, and easily maintained his advantage, winning- by four lengths, in 7min 49£sec —a world's record.
