TEACHER FAREWELLED

A+ tile breaking up for the winter holidays, a roost enthusiastic send-off was accorded Miss L. 0. Taylor, senior assistant at the Porirua public school for the past five years, on the occasion of her transfer on promotion to Berhampore school. Eulogistic speeches relative to the good' work accomplished b3' Miss Taylor were made by the chairman of the committee, Mr. E. Windley, the headmaster, Mr. W. D. ■ Bennett, and others. Miss Taylor was the recipient of a handsome travelling bag from the residents, a manicure set from the school childi-en, supplemented by an additional gift of a souvenir from each of the Maori children attending the school. The send-off took the form of a social, concluding with an enjoyable dance, cheers, and the singing of "Auld Lang Syne."
