FATAL ACCIDENT

HAWERA, 9th August. .Tame 3 White, of Whakamara, was riding on a motor-lorry which was taking furniture to ICaupokonUi on Wednesday. When going down. hill the brake" refused to act, and White jumped off the lorry, apparently with the intention of spiking .the wheels. He slipped, and ou«: wheel passed over his legs, the light one receiving a compound fracture and the left being severely injured. White was brought into the Hawera Hospital, where he died thin morning.
