:. , ■■.. WASHINGTON, 9th 'August. The Allies on the Marne front have regained 1500 square kilometres (580 square miles) of territory, and two hundred towns and villages have been recovered. The Allied front-has been ; shortened by thirty-three miles. The {The Germans used thirteen divisions to cross the Marne, and used seventeen Sivisionsm retreating from it. Additional reinforcements from Flanders have reached the: Vesle.
