RUGBY MANAGEMENT

MEETING OF THE COMMITTEE.

Members of. the Management Committee of the 'Wellington; Rugby Union met in the V.M.C.A. rooms last evening. Mr. D. D. Weir was in the chair. A^ember.of the Petone junior team, which left the field recently in sympathy with the oaptain of his team, appeared to explain his bthaviour. On behalf of the Petone team, Mr. Donovan stated that he thought the matter should not be taken any further, and he offered, on-be-half of his club, an apology for the behaviour. The member of the team finally expressed 1 his regret for having left the field. It was decided to let the I matter drop. ! It was resolved to take no action in regard to the ordering off of a member of the Petone team in a recent match with Trentham B. -A member ci the Berhampore team, for using bad language, and for also being under the influence of liquor, was suspended until the end of the 1919 season. It was decided to suspend a member of the Athletic team for three, playing Saturdays for striking an opponent. Mr. A. .J. Griffiths „ ,was appointed manager of the Wellington team which is to play Auckland at the Northern city on Saturday week. Seventeen men arc to be sent. '
