BODY FOUND IN THE HARBOUR
DECEASED NOT IDENTIFIED
This morning a railway ganger named fames Churchouse discovered the body of an elderly man on the 'rocks on the water-front a few hundred yards this side of Nghauranga, and at once .notified the police. Tlie deceased has not yet been identified. The body is that of a well-developed man, probably'a seaman or a wharf labourer, about 55"t0 60 years of age. The police description of the deceased is: sft Bin in height, daTk haiT, going grey and very bald in front, and a grey moustache. The body was clothed in dark tweed trousers, a blue soft shirt, a brownish grey jersey, grey- flannel singlet, and 1 grey woollen socks. One boot was missing, but the other is 'a tan- boot with,, several cutsr*acroes"fthe' 1"toe-jto' ease-"it r off the foot. "An aeccident in th'e^past had injured tho right hand, all the fing-. ers except the little finger and part of the thumb having ,been removed. A monumental cross is tattooed on the right forearm, and, there "is" an .-operation scar on , the [right" side of '/"the abdomen. The body now lies at the ■norgue.
