MOTOR ACCIDENT

A MARVELLOUS ESCAPE,

(BI TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.)

CHRISTCHURCH, 20th July. When Pilkington's Christchurch-Aka-roa mail motor car was near Little River at noon to-day, on the way to Akaroa, a dog got on the road, and the driver, who was then going down hill, swerved the car—a big Cadillac—to avoid the animal. The road being greasy, the car turned over twice. The .eight passengers had a most miraculous escape, none being seriously injured, although most of them were badly bruised and cut.
