REPORTED AMALGAMATION.
(AUSTRALIAN-NEW ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION.) LONDON, 18th, July. . It is understood that Lloyd's Bank is amalgamating with the Capital and Counties Bank, National Bank of Scotland, and the London and River Plate Bank.
The Capital and Counties Bank has a subscribed capital of £8,750,000, of which £1,750,000 is paid up. The reserve funds 'to 31st December last amounted to £800,000, and undivided profits, £204,068; deposit and current accounts, £58,646,454; total assets £62,767,772. The bank has 300 branches, and was established in 1834. It has itself since . 1877 absorbed 26 banks, all provincial institutions. The £50 shares paid up to £10 were worth £25 10s when the last English mail left. The National Bank of Scotland has a subscribed capital of £5,000,000, \i which £1,000,000 is paid up. The reserve funds at Ist November amounted to £800,000;' and undivided profits, £182,962; deposit and' current accounts, £29,005,324; note circulation, £2,254,494; total assets, £16,475,547. The bank was established in 1825, and it has 125 branches. The shares are £500, on which £100 has been paid up, and the market price was £302. \
The London and River Plate Bank has an authorised capital of £4,000,000, of which £1,800,000 is paid up. The reserve funds at 30th September were £2,000,000; undivided profits, £293,357; deposits and current accounts £24,375,354; total assets, £37,514,307. The bank was established in 1862. It has branches in Argentine (mainly), Uruguay, Brazil, Chili, and France.
