The Standard says: "The British people are heart and soul with the Australasians in demanding that the Germans shall no longer have a foothold in the Pacific. By their valiant sacrifices the Australasians have gained their right to resolute British support. The Foreign Office should make it clear that the captured islands in the South Pacific will not be xised as counters in territorial adjustments in Europe."

LONDON, 11th June.
In view of the opening of the Imperial Conference, the Colonial Institute passed a resolution urging that in the interests of the Empire and the native races, none of the former German possessions overseas should be restored.
