GERMANS IN THE PACIFIC

A CONVINCING- CONDEMNATION.

(Received June 12, 1 p.m.)

( LONDON, 11th June. The Evening News states that Mr. Walter Long, Colonial Secretary, recently sent Mr. R. W, Dalton, Trade Commissioner for New Zealand, on a visit to the Southern and Western Pacific. His report furnishes an unqualified' condemnation of German trade and governmental methods, • and proves the strategical necessity for the retention of the islands. In view of Mr. Dalton's report, Mr. Long will inevitably acquiesce in the claims of the Dominions that German influence shall be permanently eliminated from the South Pacific.
