KARORI BOROUGH COUNCIL
The ordinary meeting of the Karon Borough Council was held last evening, there being present: The Mayor (Mr. B. G. H. Burn) and Councillors W. Skegg, R, L. Tingey, T. W. Lewer, J. Mackenzie, R. T. Pell, H. E. Dryden, and A. Hamilton.
The Palmerston _ North Chamber of Commerce wrote, informing the council that a conference was to be held on 20th June in respect to hydro-electric power, and asking the Karon Council to appoint two delegates to attend. The Mayor and the Borough Engineer (Mr. G. W. Brigham) were appointed dele-' gates.
It was decided to accept an invitation from the Wellington Accountant Students' Society to attend a. lecture to be given by Mr. B. E. Murphy, barrister, on "The Scope and Method of Economies and its Significance for the Business Man."
The Health Inspector reported two mild cases of diphtheria within the borough. The reports.of the Finance Committee, the Works and Recreation Reserve Committee, and the Engineer were received.
