CONSCIENTIOUS OBJECTORS

A petition has been presented to the House of Representatives by Mr. J. M'Combs (Lyttelton) in the following terms : "We, the undersigned, while not necessarily endorsing the views of the conscientious and religious objectors to military service, protest against the deportation of a number of these men, and urge that they bo returned to New Zealand without delay; also that a pledge be given by the Government tliat no further deportation!? shall take place." The petition is signed by 59 ministers of religion of various denominations and from various parts of the Dominion.
