Considerable supplies of American bacon have arrived and also large quantities of Australian and New Zealand butter, cheese, meat, and wool. The total imports of wool this year amount j to nearly half a million bales. The tallow in stock amounts to 714 tons, imports 516 tons, and deliveries 486 tons, The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., reports that at Te Horo yards on Wednesday there was submitted a medium entry of sheep and a large entry of cattle to a fair attendance. There was practically a clearing of the whole yarding at satisfactory prices. Quotations:—Fat and forward ewes, 29s Si; mixed ewes and wethers, 23s 2d; fat lambs, 18s 6d; shorn lambs, small, 9s 7d; cull b.f. lambs, 6s 9d; weaner steers, £3; weaner heifers, £3; mixed sex weaners, £2 16s; small '•weaners,"27s' to' 38s; 18" months heifers, r.w.b., £8; fat and forward cows, £8 16s to £9 14s; fat heifers, to £11 4s 6d; light fat cows, £10 11s; forward heifers, £7 5s to £7 17s 6d; store, cows, £1 16s to £7 7s; 2J years steers, good . colours, £10 10s to £11 10s; 2-year steers, £10 to £11 3s; 3-year steers,' mixed colours, £10 10s; springing heifers, £9 to £0 15s; spring calvers, £6 10s to £7 15s; bulls, potters, £13 to £15 4s; aged draught horses, £8 to £14 ss.
