Y.M.C.A. FUNDS
TO THE EDITOR.
Sir,—As a humble subscriber to the recent V.M.C.A. Fund, I read with surprise of the proposals for the disbursement of the excess subscriptions. These subscriptions were given for the express purpose of providing comforts for the boys in the 'renches, ; and I. think that the V.M.C.A.' should keep faith with the public arid expend the money they have obtained in a way that will conform ' with the ■ intentions of the subscribers, instead of embarking on schemes which embody in their composition more of advertisement than of utility. The idea of using excess funds to send, a, Commission to England is nothing short of scandalous, and I hope that the wholesome pressure of public opinion will be brought to bear on the executive of the V.M.C.A. to force them to obey the wishes of their subscribers. —I am, etc., ■ . NEMO.

JOur correspondent has overlooked the published announcement that the Commissioners will "pay all their own expenses, including travelling expenses." —Ed.]
