News has now been received that- one family— Miv J, Akereon, his wife, and chiid^—had per ished. This family" lived in a bush settlement on the Matingaturoa-road,, about eight miles north-west ,of Raetihi, ■The bodies were dfscovered in thebuehby search parties iwhich went out from Raetihi in charge of the police. According to the latest reports,, a search was still being made for others' who were missing.
