CHRISTCHURCH, 20th March. . In the Supreme Court to-day, before Mr. Justice Herdman, in re Luther Hopkins, solicitor, Mr. Johnston, for the Canterbury Law Society, asked that the matter of the application for a rule ilia be not proceeded with.

After hearing counsel, His Honoui said he understood the Law Society had thoroughly investigated, the matter and had come to ths conclusion that there was no dishonesty involved and that it really resolved itself into a contest about the settlement of. accounts between Mr. Hopkins and another.

Mr. Johnston having said that this was the case, his Honour grantedl the request to withdraw the application. ' \
