GERMANY'S WORLD-POWER SCHEMES

HER ACCESS TO THE EAST

DIRECT ROUTE TO PERSIA AND AFGHANISTAN

(Received March 11, 8,30 a.m.)

NEW YORK, 10th March. The Times points out that if the despatch is true it has an important bearing on the situation in Western Asia, and possibly in India. A passage through Persia would probably meet with only nominal opposition.
