NOW OVER £1,000,000 ANNUALLY/ The pensions granted in New Zealand now total over £1,000,000 annually. The following table shows tho number of each class of pension now in force in. the Dominion, together with the total annual value of the same, and the amounts paid in each class in. The war pensions granted from Ist April, 1917, to 31st January, 1918, are as: under:—Soldiers, 108; wives and widows (including 631 children), 471; other dependents 1,304; total, 2,514; annual valuu £&5,056. Tho soldiers' allowances total 4349; wives- and widows (with 674 cliil-' dren), 476; other dependents, 82; total,; 5581; annual value, £350,255. Pensions! and allowances together thus number 8095 in all with a. total annual value of £445,311. ;. . I
