HARBOUR CONTROL

MEETING OF THE BOARD. . The monthly meeting of the Wellington Harbour Board was held last evening. Mr. C. E. Daniell presided, and other members present were.:—Messrs. R. Fletcher, M.P., M. Cohen, R. E. Sinclair, A. M'Farlane, J. G. Cobbe, M. W. Welch, R. A, Wright, M-P-, JG. Harkness, C. M'Arthur, W. Wallis, J. W. M'Ewan, and A. H. Hindmarsh, M.P. The financial statement presented was as follows:—Current account, credit balance, £34,767 14s 6d; imprest account, credit balance, £2466 14s 8d; on fixed deposit, £60,000. Payments: Accounts and wages, £24,108 13s 9d; salaries for February, £943 13s sd. The board's accounts and balance-sheet for the year ended 30th September, 1917, were received from the Comptroller and Auditor-General, duly certified to as correct. A report was also received from the Public Trustee dealing with the board's superannuation fund for the year ended 31st December, 1917. It was decided to call for tenders for the following annual supplies and services :—Coal, removal of rubbish, and cartage (contracts 1 and 2).
