An unusual charge of mixing mortar in a public , street was brought against Albert Lamb by James Doyle, Corporation Inspector, at the Magistrate's Court to-day. Mr. T. Neave, who -appeared, for the defendant, entered a'plea of guilty, but said that the offence was not., a very serious one. Lamb had mixed his mortar on the top of the stops in Kowhai-road, Kelburn, because that was the only flat piece of ground near his work. Mr. J. O'Shea, City Solicitor, said that permission could have been obtained from the council, but the defendant did not take the trouble to get it. Mr. 6. 1 M'Carthy, S.M., entered a conviction, and ordered Lamb to come' up , for sentence when called upon. The name "C. H. Fay, plasterer," which appeared in last night's list of voluntary enlistments, should have road "C, H. Day." - Bessemer Delivery Wagons' have no equals; they are steady plodders in every day service, regardless of the weather and the road conditions. A Bessemer will solve delivery problems and return a handsome profit for the care' expended on it. For full particulars write to J. E. Fitzgerald, Motor Importer, Larabton--1 quay, Wellington.—Advt.
