MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Mr. S. E. M'Carthy, S.M., presided at the Magistrate's Court this morning when police, maintenance, and affiliation cases were dealt with.
George Hanley was fined 20s, with the option of spending seven days in gaol for drunkenness. ■ '■
Robert Vallance was fined in a like sum for drunkenness, but the alternative was fixed at 48 hours' imprisonment.
Frederick Edwards, who was £1 in arrears in respect of a maintenance order in favour of a relative, was fined £5 and costs.
John E. Slattery, who was £5 in arrears in a maintenance order in favour of his father, was sentenced to a month's imprisonment, the sentence to be suspended if the amount, plus costs, ifi paid within fourteen days. After considering the evidence in the case, Police v. Bert R. K. 5 Andrews, for an affiliation order in respect to Myrtle Campbell, his Worship said that the evidence on either side was not convincing, and the information was dismissed without prejudice.
