A MILITARY FUNERAL
Tpr. S. W. E.'".Freeman died at the Victoria Military Hospital on Monday last from paralysis following a gunshot wound in the spine. Tpr. Freeman left New Zealand'with-the 4th Reinforcements as-a member of the Wellington Mounted Eifles, and returned in October of last year. His father, John William Freeman, resides at Brighton, England. A military funeral was accorded the deceased this afternoon. The Minister of Defence and the Defenco Department were represented by Capt. Vale. There was a good mustering of returned soldiers, who were officially represented by Mr. Bohlson, the secretary of the Association. Mr. Raymond (on behalf of the War Relief Association) and Mr. Densem (on behalf of the V.M.C.A.) also attended, and the Trentham Military Band headed the cortege. Chap-lain-Colonel Tracey officiated at the graveside, and the firing ■ party from Trentham Camp was in charge of Lt. Bailey.
