HUTT LICENSING BENCH

The quarterly sitting of the Hutt Licensing. Committee , was held at Lower Hutt to-day. Present; Messrs. W G. ■Riddftll (chairman), J. W. M'Ewan J Cotton, H. Ryder, N. Welch, and J. Cudby., . . ■■..'.'

The police report stated that, on the whole, the hotels in Petono, Lower Hutt and Upper Hutt had been well conducted. T,here were two exceptions. In one case, the hotel had been fairly well conducted, and in the other case badly conducted. The committee hoped that at the nest meeting, a. better report would be forthcoming with regard to these two hotels. /

A transfer of the 'Taita. license wa« granted from W. Moore to Myra Campbell. Mr. J. J. M'Grath made the application.

Mr. E. M. Beechey applied for transfers of the Bellevue license from.George Anyon to Nellie St. Leger, and the Central Hotel (Petone) license from F. J. Warring to Harriet Maddock. These were granted. Mr. J. J. M'Grath, on behalf of the whole of the lkensecg in the Valley, made application, whrh was granted for permission (under section 160 of the Licensing Act) to extinguish their lights at 6 o'clock instead of at 10 o'clock.
