ANNUAL CONFERENCE.
The annual conference of the Coal Miners' Federation opened in Wellington to-day,. when there were present: —Messrs. H. Coppersmith (president), J. Wihnard (vice-president), R. Semple (national organiser), J. Arbuckle (secretary); rep'r'e-' sontatives on executive, Messrs. T. ■Williams (Buller District), A. Dixon (southern district), J. O'Brien (northern, district), J. Connolly (Grey district); conference delegates, R. Smith (E* union) R. G. Dixon (Brunner), W. Fisher (State), 1. Helson (Denniston), B. Da^dson (MilJcrton), R. Corbett (Ngakawa), J. Fenton (Kaitangata),^— Ferguson (Nightcaps) J. Carr (Huntly,), S. v Green (Pukemiro), J. Melhng- (Te Akatea). . ,• The business to-day was of a purely private nature.
