MAKARA COUNTY AFFAIRS

The last meeting of the Makara County Council before the elections was held this morning in the Council Chambers. Councillor J. H. Haggerty presided; and there were also present—Councillorsß. Mexted, S. Bryant, G. Monk, J. Monaghan, and A. J. Taylor. It was decided to write a letter to property owners at Tawa Flat station re.questing them to remove broom from the front of their property. Mr. H. Bramley was appointed ranger. It was decided t0... lower the ranger's hours to 20. the ranger, to report on his rounds to the councillor of the district visited. Accounts amounting to £247 7s lid ■were passed for payment.
