ORGANISING LABOUR
There'«as but a sparse attendance at the meeting called in the New Century Hall, Kent-terrace, last evening, for the purpose of forming a branch of the Labour Party. The meeting, which was under the auspices of the Wellington Labour Representation Committee, was presided over by Mr. W. Maddison, and the speakers were Messrs. H. E. Holland, J. Glover, and Humphries, Mrs. Snow, and the chairman. The various speakers stressed the importance of all workers organising in order that the whole of the people should be represents ed in Parliament instead of any one section of the community. At the present time a much healthier state of affairs exsisted than was the case a few years back, but the condition of things demanded strong and thorough organisation, of the efforts of united labour. It was absolutely imperative that labour should present a bold front, and this could only be done by the marshalling of the forces and the exercise of initiation. Those present were called upon to do all in their power to assist in the movement. It was decided to form a branch to be called the AVellington East Branch of the Labour Party, and the chairman took the names of all those willing to assist.
