HOME APPOINTMENTS. The following appointments, and ' grants of temporary rank, of the undermentioned officers of the Imperial Army and Territorial Force have been approved :— | General Headquarters. Major J. L. Sleemau, 1.G.5., is i granted the temp, rank of Lt.-Col. i whilst holding the appointment of Director of Military Training. N.Z.E.F. Training Camps. Major Rr- Neave (Essex Rgt.) is granted the temp, rank of Lt.-Col. i whilst holding the appointment of infantry instructor in N.Z.E.F. Training Camps. | 2nd Lt. H. H. Doughty, N.Z.F.A., ! A Battery, is confirmed in his appoint- I ment as field artillery instructor iv I E.F. Training Camps, and is granted the temp, rank of Lt. whilst so employed. 2nd Lt. (temp.) P. R; Chapman, N.Z.A.S.C., No. 8 Co., is granted the temp, rank of Lt. whilstj employed as officer in charge of transport. Sgt. A. Tyndall is appointed camp works engineer officer in Trentham camp on the staff of the Director of Railways and Works, and is granted the temp, rank of Lt., ILL. (b), whilst so employed. Lt. (temp,) C. F. Bishop, N.Z.A.S;C, ie granted the temp, rank of Capt. whilst holding the appointment of officer in charge of supplies. "X" shed.

In Berlin motor - onsnibsses disanpeayed at an early stage of tie war, being spirited off to ths front. The horse omnibus suddenly came into its own again. But. its days, too, seem to bo numbered, for one after another, ovring to lack of horses, the various omnibus lines are being "temporarily closed down.."
