This morning tbe criminal sessions of tho Hnproma Comrt were continued before his Honour tho Chief Jnatice (Sir liobort Stou)t and a jury of twelve, of which Mr. F. Seager was foreman. Further oonfli'leration v;a« given to the chargo againat Goorgo Harm, of having Jorgod a will purporting to be signed by ono John Smith, and with uttering the name to the Pobiic Trustee.
Mr. P. S. K. Macaeßey appeared for the Crown, find the accused was defended by Mr. M. Myora. The evidence for tho prosecution closed last evening To-< Jay the _ accused Harris gave evidence. He said be bad very little education, having only reached the second or third standard. Aljont three years ago Smith, in casual conversation, mentioned to him that ho had made a will, and from that time onward there was no further mention of tho matter. The first ho heard of tho will was wben his wife got a copy from the PubKc Trustee, and ho fu-rt, »w it when interviewed by a dotective-Bt-rgeant. He had never known or heard of the supposed witnesses to tho will, Irascr and Morrison. 't° M, t- 'Ufassoy :He did not adc 0 Loughlin (Smith's friend) if the latter had left a will. Mr. Myers then proceeded to call evidence at length to reveal the points ol '.iKsimiJarity in the handwriting of letters admitted to have been written by Harris, and the handwriting in the will and the accompanying letter. After the luncheon interval Mr Mverx addressed the Court at length on behalf of the accused. (Proceeding.)
